Wow Your 4th Of July Party Guests, One Pin At A Time

Daria Valles Contributor Bio

I miss the days when pizza was enough of an excuse to have a party… like, “Oh okay! Let’s get pizza in the classroom and have a pizza party!” Boom. Where’s the staples button when you need one? That was easy! Nowadays?! No pizza parties are happening that I’m aware of. Which is why any excuse I get to have a party, I take it! Cinco de Mayo? Tacos, tequila and sombreros were flying. Super bowl? Let’s see how many drunk people we can get on the couch screaming at the TV! Mother’s Day? Bottomless mimosas and breakfast in bed (that’s still a party – don’t fight me on this)… you get the point.

Some people are the party planners and some people are the partiers. (Is that even a word?) I however, am blessed enough to be both. Pinterest is my BFF. I pin pin pin plan and pin some more! I get everything set and ready to go so the day of the party, I too can be a partier!

4th of July is no different. Do you want your guests coming to just another hamburger and hotdog cookout or do you want them to come over and be WOWED?! Wow them. Do it. I dare you… and I’ll make it easy. No hours of pin pin pin planning for you! Here are some of my tips and tricks from Pinterest for the perfect 4th of July Cookout! Some I have done in years past and will be doing again, and others I will be doing for the first time this year!

Now, let’s get this party started!

Let’s start with my all time favorite 4th of July pin I’ve ever found…

  • One 3-ounce box of Berry Blue Jello mix
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • ½ cup of cold water

White Layer:

  • ½ cup of Three Olives vodka

Red Layer:

  • ½ cup of UV Cherry Vodka
  • One 3-ounce box of Cherry Jello mix
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water

  • 48 2-ounce plastic cups with lids

Directions

Blue Layer:

  1. Place the jello powder into a medium mixing bowl (preferably with a pour spout).
  2. Pour the boiling water over the jello powder while whisking constantly. Continue to whisk until the powder is completely dissolved.
  3. Add the cold water and vodka to the jello. Stir to combine.

  3. Add the sweetened condensed milk and vodka. Stir to combine.
  4. Pour the jello mixture into each of the plastic cups so that they are 2/3 full. Refrigerate the jello for 1 hour or until set and wobbly.

Red Layer:

  1. Place the jello powder into a medium mixing bowl (preferably with a pour spout).
  2. Pour the boiling water over the jello powder while whisking constantly. Continue to whisk until the powder is completely dissolved.
  3. Add the cold water and vodka to the jello. Stir to combine.
  4. Fill each of the plastic cups until full with jello. Refrigerate the jello for 2-3 hours or until completely set.
  5. Cover with lids and stack in a storage container in the fridge until ready to serve.
